In 2024, Hurricane Milton swept through Naples, Florida, bringing with it the kind of chaos that turns familiar neighborhoods into unrecognizable landscapes. For Steven and Roxana Brajdic, the storm brought something far worse than property damage - it separated them from their beloved Golden Doodle, Patrick.

For what felt like an eternity, Patrick was missing. The Brajdics searched tirelessly, posting flyers, checking shelters, and walking the streets calling his name. During those agonizing days, they experienced firsthand the limitations of traditional pet identification methods.

"Patrick had a microchip," recalls Steven, "but we quickly learned that microchips can only be scanned by veterinarians and animal control officers with special equipment. Regular people who might find your pet can't access that information. We realized there had to be a better way."

When Patrick was finally reunited with his family, the Brajdics knew they had to create a solution that would help other pet families avoid the heartbreak they had experienced. They envisioned a system where anyone with a smartphone could instantly access a pet's information and contact the owners directly.

"We thought critically about what pet identification really needed to accomplish," explains Roxana. "It's not enough to just have an ID number that only professionals can read. In an emergency, every second counts, and the person who finds your pet needs immediate access to your contact information."

This realization led to the creation of QRious Paws - smart QR code pet ID tags that bridge the gap between traditional identification methods and modern technology. Unlike microchips that require special scanners, our QR codes can be read by any smartphone camera, instantly connecting finders to comprehensive pet profiles with photos, medical information, and owner contact details.
